Bin Ahmed Kanoo is committed to training. The Kanoo Training
Centre [KTC] was established to provide Kanoo employees
with the skills and business acumen they need to function
effectively within a diverse and ever-changing commercial
environment.
KTC commenced operations in 1981 as a department within
the Administration Division, based at Kanoo headquarters
in Dammam. As training demand increased, a new purpose
built training center was established in Airline Center,
Al-Khobar, the present location. This was inaugurated
by HRH Price Saud Bin Naif Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Deputy
Governor, Eastern Province on 24th Muharram 1417 H (10th
June 1996). Airline Center remains its location to this
day.
Further fully equipped training centers were opened in
Riyadh and Jeddah in 1996 and 1999 respectively, together
with another major facility in Bahrain.
Kanoo Training Center now provides internal training annually
to more than 3,000 Kanoo personnel. Over and above this,
KTC stand as the instrument of Kanoo's Nationalisation
Programme. Kanoo Training annually recruits and trains
Gulf national candidates for eventual absorption into
the operating divisions.
Every year it maintains a significant presence at a number
of college and graduate recruitment fares, the most high
profile of these being the Careers Day at King Fahd University
of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran.
In 1997, with respect to Saudi Arabia, Kanoo was awarded
a prestigious prize from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry,
Eastern Province for its efforts in the development of
young Saudis. A similar prestigious HRD award was also
won in the UAE for their efforts in developing young Emirati
nationals there.
Kanoo recognises that their employees have the drive and
